Anurag Kashyap Reveals Playing A Peacemaker Between Kangana Ranaut And Taapsee Pannu
Anurag Kashyap recently revealed that he tried to play peacemaker between Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu. Kangana and Taapsee’s Twitter spat ignited after Manikarnika actress called Yaapsee and Swara Bhasker ‘B grade actresses’ and ‘needy outsiders’
Ever since Kangana Ranaut appeared on a news channel, and spoke boldly about the nepotism in industry and Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, she is now embroiled in a social media war with a few film fraternity members. In her explosive interview, the Queen actress called Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhasker ‘B grade actresses’ and ‘needy outsiders’, and also called out Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra among others for their double standard. Seeing the new avatar of Kangana, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had taken to social media and said he used to be friends with Kangana but now he doesn’t know the new Kangana, who says, ‘If you’re not with me you’re my enemy.”
Now in his latest interview with NDTV, Anurag Kashyap revealed that he tried to play a peacemaker between Taapsee Pannu, who he directed in Manmarziyan and Kangana Ranaut, whose much-loved film Queen was backed by him. He told NDTV, “Taapsee is also a friend and I said that two friends are there and why are they saying things to each other... I called her (Kangana) and asked her and she put the whole conversation on social media and I was just there like a friend trying to sort things out.”
Apparently, Kangana's friendship with Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap soured when they had a hearty laugh on a question about her during their Manmarziyaan promotional interview in 2018. Kashyap told the portal, ‘Kangana was hurt. "I am saying okay, if you are hurt by that, I will apologize for that. That's what friends do. But she has gone on to a mode where 'If you're not with me you're my enemy’.”
